Quite busy!

In the morning hours, I was busy cleaning and ironing (while Claire was taking her nap). Carl came home, we had lunch. After that me and Claire went to the library, went to the post office. While I was there this lady talked to me about breast feeding. It was very nice to hear what she had to say, actually! She nursed for 2 years (twins) and donated breast milk. Anyway, I just thought she had lovely things to say about nursing. :) After the post office, we took some of our clothes to the cleaners. Then we went to Jareds to have our wedding rings checked, cleaned, ect. Hmm...I'm embarrassed to say what I did next. :D Hehe. Well, I was very thristy. Yep, I got something to drink.....Jamba Juice. :) Brighteyed Blackberry drink. Yummy! Claire really enjoyed it too. :) Believe me, I *NEVER* do that sort of thing. Now I'm home and I've gotta start supper. I like to start at 4pm usually, but um, its 4:42 right now. Ah well. I've been busy all day. Being on the internet is my way of taking a break sometimes. ;)

A day at the beach

On Saturday around 12:30 we left for Galveston. We drove and drove, looking for a place where it would be just us. After about 30 mins of driving and looking, we finally found a place off of a neighborhood. Wonderful! I could hardly believe that Carl was serious (that he found a place w/ no one).

We had sooo much fun!! It was simply a blast. Claire has been to the ocean before, but she was about 5 1/2 months then. Now she is 11 months. She absolutely loved the water! Of course, she would have put a lot of sand in her mouth had we not stopped her. Hehe. She crawled (not near the water, believe me!) That was fun for her. Carl swam some.

We got home around 4pm. Claire had a nice long nap. I made supper, cleaned and then made a dessert to take to Joe and Care's. When we got there, Claire saw this interesting toy that Julia just got from a neighbor. She got to the toy (or near it) by walking 6 steps!!!! I wanted to cry; I couldn't believe it.

Claire is needing me (as usual). I've been on here for awhile, trying to post all the pics. Now I'm leaving. Love yall!!!

Taken yesterday

the past week

For the past week Claire has been teething. Our nights have been crazy. Ah well. We're hanging in there! I finally got some teething tablets. They're homeopathic ones, so I'm glad about that. I think they've been helping her out.

This week, I've just cleaned....and cleaned. And guess what? If you came to my house right now, it would be a mess! Sadness. I try. :) Other than cleaning, I've gone to Barns and Nobles Bookstore. I really like those kina places. I was looking at the book "What Mothers Do: Especially When it Looks Like Nothing". Also, "The Well Fed Baby". No, I didn't get either of them. I think I'll try to look for some books on Amazon-hopefully they'll be cheaper there.

Is Claire walking? Not yet! Boohoo. I am hoping that she's walking by her first birthday!! Ha, that's next month! We'll see. Lately,tho, she's been standing up a lot, so that's good news. It's almost like her brain wants to go forward (when she's standing), but her legs just don't go and she ends up falling. :(

Well, that's it for now. I've gotta get this babe in her bed. She's been on my lap.

Can you tell she's done? I thought it was kina funny how she ate all the cheese, most of the turkey, but not really the bread. She knows what she likes! :D

Hi there! I guess it's my turn to say something... Steph has been telling me I have get something written for our blog, so here goes.

Of course, Steph is the one that everyone wants to hear from, right? She's the nice one ;-) . And I would like to say she's doing a good job at blogging, or at least keeping current photos up. Thanks Steph! You make this a fun place to visit, Dear. And I'm sure it means a lot to your family who aren't able to see Claire and you (and me?) as much as they would like.

But maybe, Steph, you should give a little run down of what we've been up to lately. Or perhaps I should do that just now....

(I'm not much of a blogger, so bear with me here)

Not much going on around here really, just busy with work etc. I'm, of course, running a small company and Steph is being a wonderful mom and wife. Right now Mark, my brother, is living with us, till we move into a house. As you can see from the photos Matthew, Mark's son, is over here with us sometimes. (He's a really 'cool' guy, just like his dad,, uh,, well, he's a really cool guy, usually very happy and good natured, unless he's acting like his dad -- uh, I think I need to be careful here! lol.) Steph and I are really wanting to get out of this apartment and get into a house, so we've been keeping a look out for a place to buy. We hope to move by the early part of next year, D.V. We are hoping to find a place where Claire (and Dad!) can have pets, etc.(!). That's kinda our dream, so that might have to wait a few years. But for now, it's apartment life, which means enjoy the indoors!

I really have a good excuse to end this for now... I need to take Steph to get something to eat (we'll have to wait on buying that house another month, Steph). I have some things to do this evening, so thought I would take Steph with me and get something out.

She decided to spit her food out. It landed on her tummy...she looked below, and.....you guess it: rubbed it all over. I'm sure it felt interesting. I never like to interupt those moments.

This morning we went to Houston--me and Claire. Wow, I'm so happy that I did it!! I mean, I never drove into Houston by myself like that. You're probably wondering where we went. Well, there was an API (attatchment parenting international) meeting taking place there. It was pretty much right by Rice University. I got out of the van and all of the sudden I see all these mothers wearing their babes! Lovely! The meeting itself didn't go as I thought it would. I'm glad I went,though. :) There was also a shop that we went to "A Mothers Work". They have a bunch of baby colthes, nursing wear, slings,ect.

Care, Julia and Jenna were here most of the day. Poor Care. She had knee surgery, so she can't use that knee for another 5 weeks. :(

I really have hurry. It took a while posting all the photos. I have to be w/ my people now. Much love to yall!!

Today Mommy and Claire went to the library. We could only get two books for the first time. We got "Mama, Do You Love Me?" and "Touch and Feel Farm" While I was looking for books--Claire was smiling at all the young kids doing their homework. It was cute! Lately her books have been her "toys".

Today we went to Barns and Nobles. I love that place! Claire has fun there too. She enjoys looking at all the books. I got a book called "Mom's Almanac". It looks very interesting!
