alittle about claire (isn't that always the case anyway? dear me!)

Claire has been signing a little now. When she sees milk on the table, she starts signing "more". I think she thinks that's what it's actually called. She can sign "happy" too. Now I'm trying to teach her how to sign "pee", so that way hopefully she'll be able to tell me or when I put her on the potty she'll know what I'm talking about. We *hope* one of these days soon she'll get it. :) So far today she's been doing good on the potty. When I try put her on there, you can see she's "trying" (she sorta "pushes" like). I hope I keep on doing this!! I know it takes patience and perseverance. Can anyone encourage me? (lol) Or maybe yall just think I'm crazy.

hmm, as if I know anything about potty training...but was recently reading something baby center sent to my email about starting too early and that it could make the process longer. I think I'm better off waiting till 18 months to start, but it will be later as the baby is due right at that time. I have a feeling potty training is going to be a bigger hurdle to get over than weaning was... I'm not looking forward to the process...just the end result! :)

I think if you catch her while she shows an interest in it, you will get her potty trained easily. It takes time and effort, but once it is done, you'll be glad you did it.

The pictures of your family are lovely - your mom and dad look *young*
Best regards

Yes, Ev, that's what most people will say. Thing is there are "windows of learning". Like from birth to 5 months or somthing then 8 months to 12 months then 18 months to 24 months (for potty training). It's all "someting like that". I've been reading a book "Early Start Potty Training". If you notice your child is not wet after thier morning naps, then it could be time to start potty training. I've defintely noticed that with Claire for the past few days. Even if you start at 18 months, you're still earlier than the adverage Amercian parent is starting.

Thank you Henrietta for the encouragment!! When did you start w/ yours??

Yes, my parents *are* youngish. Mom had me when she was 18 I think. I also have a brother and a sister (I'm the oldest).
